2013 Chevrolet Avalanche

2013 Chevrolet Avalanche. In the full-size pickup-truck market, it's all about payload and towing and vast stretches of spread-out space. There's not much room for a truck that tries to deliver carlike seating and a truck bed in as little overall length as possible. The road's littered with failed examples, from the Explorer Sport Trac to the Ridgeline to the El Camino and Caballero.
Chevy thought it had a better idea with the Avalanche, a pickup truck that pioneered the midgate, a clever idea that allowed owners to choose between an SUV-like five- or six-seat cabin and a medium-sized bed. A fold-down panel with removable glass, the midgate made the Avalanche both things to all owners--just not at the same time--and an interesting spin-off of GM's full-size truck family, which also includes the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado.
Introduced in the 2002 model year, the Avalanche was updated for the 2007 model year, and carries over into what will be its final year in production largely unchanged. It's a full-sized truck in almost all respects, and not as easy to pick out from other four-door Silverados as it once was. The front ends are similar; the differences mostly come behind the rear doors, where the Avalanche has a large diagonal brace that connects its roofline to the short truck bed hung off the back. The cockpit's a duplicate of the one found in the Silverado, from the rear seatbacks forward, with a choice of five or six seats.  The five-seat model sports a wide console with lots of storage; the six-passenger model has a plainer dash with no console. Both are fitted with big gauges, big door handles, and big, easy-to-use knobs and buttons, all designed for use with work gloves and/or meaty hands, rightfully identified as a key market for the 'Lanche.
There's just one powertrain available in the 'Lanche, and it's one of the best offered in the GM truck lineup. The 310-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8 comes with a six-speed automatic, and whether you choose rear-drive or all-wheel drive, it's a workhorse of a drivetrain, torquey, able, and pleasant to hear on the move. It's also outfitted with cylinder deactivation and flex-fuel capability, which give it a greener tinge than some of the engines from Toyota, Dodge and Nissan. Shifting duties are handled by a great six-speed automatic. The Avalanche drives as well as other GM trucks, its independent front suspension, well-sorted steering feel and well-damped ride earning the same kudos as the Silverado.  There's an off-road Z71 package for those who need underbody protection and big knobby tires, too. The Avalanche can tow up to 8100 pounds and tote 1350 pounds of payload, putting it above the median in full-size trucks.
Perhaps no other truck on the road can compete with what the Avalanche offers in terms of style, utility, and performance. It is literally, the whole package. And although it presents an extremely alluring presence on the outside, it is on the inside where Av drivers have trouble picking out what fits their ride best. The solution? Chevy Avalanche Wood Grain. Nothing does the job better or quicker than Chevy Avalanche Wood Grain and we have the finishes to prove it. 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche

The 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche is essentially a cross between two popular body styles: part four-door crew-cab pickup and part full-size SUV. To create it, Chevy designers and engineers grafted a 5-foot-3 pickup bed onto the underpinnings of the brand's venerable Suburban SUV, creating a unique truck that combines the best qualities of both.
The innovation that really makes these individual parts transcend their humble origins is the two-piece "midgate" behind the rear seats. Folding the rear seatbacks forward and opening the midgate transforms the Avalanche from a five-passenger SUV into a pickup with an 8-foot load floor that stretches from just behind the front seats back to the lockable tailgate. A three-piece hard tonneau cover turns the space into secure storage for low-profile items like surfboards and toolboxes, and can be removed to make room for large loads like dirt bikes or major appliances.
While these uncommon attributes make the Avalanche an intriguing alternative to old-school pickups and SUVs, this beast has its drawbacks. Topping the list are its plus-sized dimensions and limited visibility out the back. The fact that the Avalanche is more expensive, yet has a lower towing capacity than comparable crew-cab pickups is another issue buyers need to keep in mind.
The 2012 Avalanche certainly isn't for everybody. Crew-cab pickups from Chevy, Dodge, Ford and Toyota all provide much of the passenger benefits of the Avalanche, but with a lower price and greater capability. Nonetheless, this SUV/pickup combination still offers a mix of attributes that certainly makes it appealing, especially for those who prioritize passenger comfort over utility.
Treat your vehicle with respect, and do not neglect its cargo area. After all, it's one of those areas that suffer a lot of abuse. Every time when you throw in your gulf clubs or your toolbox, pile groceries or take your beloved pet on a trip, you risk to seriously damage the cargo area carpeting. Stains, rips, debris, and mud don't go well with the factory floor carpeting, and you don't have to tolerate all that. In our extensive selection of cargo liners you'll easily find the product that will suit you needs. Need proofs? Read over 28 cargo liners and trunk mats reviews with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, and choose the level of protection that is perfect for your vehicle.

Team Building | Chevrolet

Chevrolet has added another new direction to its advertising, this one inspired by the show The Office: when the boss at a dealership gets the idea to create a workplace comedy, it becomes a series called "Under the Blue Arch."

The campaign was created by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and directed by Randall Einhorn, veteran of The Office and Parks and Recreation, among other shows. Actual 30-second television spots will be created based on the "show" to run in support of local dealership groups.

2012 Chevrolet Avalanche

The 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche truck is part pickup, part SUV and entirely practical. Its big, roomy cabin is virtually identical to the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban-at least from the second-row seat forward.  What makes the 2012 Chevy Avalanche so much more versatile than a crew-cab pickup is the standard folding midgate bulkhead behind the rear seat. Essentially a cutout covered by a metal panel, with the midgate folded down the Avalanche's bed is extended into the cab. Built on the same platform as the Suburban, the 2012 Avalanche full-size truck is endowed with the same strong chassis, ground clearance and AWD ability as its SUV cousin. The only difference is there is no 2500 model, and the standard engine is Chevy's small-block 5.3-liter V8 featuring Active Fuel Management and E85 capability.

Chevrolet Avalanche News

The Chevrolet Avalanche is a four-door pickup truck introduced by General Motors in 2002, and significantly revamped for the 2007 model year. While sales have slowed considerably, GM is expected to keep the vehicle in its lineup through the 2012 model year. With a base price of about $36,000 and rising to more than $47,000, the Avalanche has few competitors save for GM's own Cadillac Escalade EXT, the four-door Ford F-150 and Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab, and the Honda Ridgeline.
The Avalanche is part sport-utility vehicle, and part pickup truck--something of a Swiss Army Knife among trucks. The cabin has nearly the same room as GM's traditional SUVs like the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Suburban. However, the short pickup bed can be expanded in length and volume via the "Midgate"--a fold-down panel that divides the external bed from the interior. When folded down, the Avalanche sports a nearly full-sized pickup bed, though it's no longer enclosed like a sport-ute. In the current generation, the bed expands from 5' 3" to 8' 2". The Midgate gives it distinct advantages over vehicles like the Honda Ridgeline, which also has a short bed but a fixed wall separating the cabin and the cargo area.
Stylish trucks need love too, so at CARiD.com, we make sure we've got the Chevy Avalanche Accessories and parts to back up the concept. Grilles, Chevy Tail Lights, floor mats, tonneau covers, chevy bed rails, wheels, dash kits, and more are available inside our selection in the absolute highest quality possible. 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche

The 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche ranks 3 out of 3 Sport Utility Trucks. This ranking is based on our analysis of 52 published reviews and test drives of the Chevrolet Avalanche, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
The Chevrolet Avalanche is great for shoppers who need more utility than most SUVs can offer, but want a more comfortable everyday driver than a Crew Cab pickup like the Dodge Dakota can manage.
The Chevrolet Avalanche may be one of the only sport utility trucks left, but it’s still going strong. It has four doors, seats up to six and has a towing capacity of up to 8,100 pounds, which puts it in the same class as full size SUVs like the Honda Pilot and the Ford Expedition. But its pickup bed and MSRP of about $36,000 put it on par with full size pickup trucks like the Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab. "Like peanut butter and chocolate, sometimes combining two seemingly unrelated things results in something that's a pleasant surprise,” writes Edmunds . “In the 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche's case, it's the combination of both pickup and SUV attributes that proves to be so appealing.”2007-2010 Chevrolet Avalanche photographed in ...Image via Wikipedia
The 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche comes with a well-equipped interior, even in the base models. The approximately $36,000 Avalanche LS comes with features like an AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo, USB port with iPod dock, Bluetooth connectivity, and heated exterior mirrors. Upgrading to the top-of-the-line LTZ trim brings the MSRP up to about $46,000 and equips the Avalanche to near-luxury levels, adding standard leather seats, touchscreen navigation and a Bose eight-speaker surround sound system.
If you're looking to add a whole new dimension to your exterior, Chevy Body Kits at CARiD are the answer! We'll help you find a Body Kit that turns your "everyday" vehicle into a customized ride that leaves a lasting impression. All of our Body Kits come from top-name designers who've been in the game for years, giving us an advantage in quality no one can compete with. Only ultra-grade ABS, Fiberglass, and Urethane are used along with a precise factory-match painting system to ensure the perfect fit-and-finish which matters most. Drive with a refined, custom presence everyone respects. A Body Kit for your model is the first step.

Chevrolet Avalanche News

Bridging the gap between Chevrolet's family-friendly full-size SUVs and its robust pickup trucks, the Chevrolet Avalanche is a unique offering unlike anything else in the market.
The Avalanche was first introduced for the 2002 model year, while the current model dates to 2007. Early Avalanches featured extensive styling differences from the Suburban, but the latest model is a dead ringer from the passenger area forward.
The Avalanche's bed, however, deviates from the Chevrolet Silverado by being integrated into the front cabin with an innovative Midgate system. The normally static wall between the second row bench's back can be opened to extend the normally five foot, three inch cargo bed to eight feet, two inches.
Inside, however, the Avalanche is all Suburban with an upscale dashboard and plenty of available luxury conveniences.

2011 Chevrolet Avalanche

The Chevrolet Avalanche is one of the industry's most flexible utility vehicles, combining the passenger-comfort attributes of a SÚV wîth the cargo capability of a truck. It is based on GM's full-size SÚV platform, offering flex-fuel capability; a sharp, precise driving feel; interior refinement and notable quietness. And when it comes to pulling its weight on the job, it has a maximum towing capacity of 8,100 pounds (3,674 kg).
Avalanche is powered by an efficient combination that includes the Vortec 5.3L V-8 wîth cylinder-deactivating Active Fuel Management technology and a fuel-saving Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic. The transmission helps deliver improved highway fuel mileage by incorporating two overdrive gears (fifth and sixth gears) that allow the engine to operate at a lower speed on the highway. Less fuel is used when the engine rpm is lowered, enhancing fuel economy. The lower engine speed also contributes to a quieter passenger environment.
The 2011 Avalanche is available in LS, LT and LTZ models, wîth 2WD and 4WD. The popular Z71 Off Road appearance package is available and includes high-pressure, gas-charged monotube shocks, 18-inch on/off road tires, automatic-locking differential, front recovery hooks, a durable skid plate and high-capacity air cleaner. Large, color-keyed wheel flares, an aggressive front fascia and satin chrome tubular assist steps, and bright chrome front grille insert provide a one-of-a kind appearance.
Avalanche also delivers useful technology and uncompromising safety features, including Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity wîth specific §teering wheel controls, an available rear camera system, head curtain side-impact air bags and StabiliTrak electronic stability control system. Avalanche offers an integrated brake controller that works wîth the ABS system to provide immediate and measured brake force signaling to electric-controlled trailer brake systems; there is no requirement for external and/or aftermarket brake control systems.
A range of 17-inch and 20-inch wheels is offered. Seventeen-inch wheels and tires are standard, wîth 20-inch factory-installed wheels available (standard on LTZ; available on LT). The larger wheels fill Avalanche's wheelhouses, giving the vehicle a confident stance.
When you’re looking for a Chevy Avalanche Grill Guard, you need quality. Durability. Stainless Steel. And a refined, professional finish wouldn’t hurt, either. At CARiD, you get all that and more inside our selection of Chevy Avalanche Grille Guards! Thanks to big-time names such as Westin® and Romik®, every Chevy Grill Guard we offer is of the highest quality around. Chevy Avalanche Grille Guards defend the front of your vehicle with brute-tough Stainless Steel by stopping rocks, sticks, and debris from doing damage. 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche

Like peanut butter and chocolate, sometimes combining two seemingly unrelated things results in something that's a pleasant surprise. In the
2011 Chevrolet Avalanche's case, it's the combination of both pickup and SUV attributes that proves to be so appealing. The Avalanche is based on GM's full-size truck architecture and comes in a four-door crew-cab body style. Unlike a truck, however, the Avalanche's cab and bed aren't separate; instead, the Avalanche features an SUV's one-piece body.
Separating these two sections is an innovative "midgate" that gives the Avalanche its unique flexibility. With it in place you have a quiet, comfortable SUV-like interior; fold it down and you get an extended cargo area that stretches all the way from the lockable tailgate to the back of the front seats. The three-piece hard chevy tonneau cover over the bed can either be left in place to keep cargo secure or removed to carry taller items like dirt bikes or large home appliances. As with all big trucks, the Avalanche's main downside is its plus-sized dimensions, which can make it a handful in heavy traffic and tight spaces. The other notable downside is a price tag that's substantially higher than comparable crew cab pickups.
Truck shoppers who like the Avalanche's versatile design might also want to check out the Honda Ridgeline; though it lacks the Avalanche's cargo room and towing capacity, it offers an equally innovative SUV/pickup hybrid design in a more nimble, less expensive and more fuel-efficient package. And if luxury is your thing, you might also look at the Chevy's upscale cousin, the Cadillac Escalade EXT. But overall we think the 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche is a solid pick for people needing the best of both the pickup and SUV worlds.

Chevy Avalanche Accessories

A blend of full-size pickup and SUV, the Avalanche delivers exceptional versatility. Unique to GM, the innovative Midgate feature provides a pass-through between the rear cabin and the short cargo box, increasing capacity. It drives like a Suburban, and it’s not afraid of hard work.

Whatever you use it for, the Chevy Avalanche gets it done with a style that is truly unique, and its logical yet fashionable resources have bolstered this model's popularity. Chevy Silverado Projector Headlights

The pickup truck has long been a mainstay of American byways and highways, and Chevrolet has been there from day one. Originally used and respected by farmers, construction workers and small-business owners, Chevrolet's hauler was a basic workhorse known for its reliability and longevity. More recent times have seen Chevy's full-size truck adopt the name Silverado, which was previously an upscale trim level. 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD DuramaxImage by latemodelresto via Flickr
As with its rivals, the modern-day Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is available with a wide variety of body styles, powertrains and trim levels. Thanks to this flexibility, the half-ton Silverado pickup is just as adept at serving as the weekday family car as it is at transporting home-improvement supplies or towing a boat on the weekends. And if one wants something sporty, there are always the SS versions that come complete with a rumbling V8, bucket seats and flashy wheels.
Older versions of the Silverado 1500 pickup have been praised for their strong work ethic but soundly criticized for their bland, often overly plastic-endowed cabins. The latest version, however, exhibits greatly improved fit and finish. Where there was once an abundance of lackluster design, hard plastic and uneven panel gaps there are now richly grained upholstery, softer materials and precise fitments. Of course, there are other choices in the full-size pickup truck market, but the half-ton Chevrolet Silverado remains a solid pick no matter what its intended use.
When the sun begins to fade and the sky dims to welcome in the night, your truck can’t stay incognito. If anything, this is your chance to really shine! At CARiD.Com we have the Chevy Silverado Projector Headlights you need to make it work. All of our Chevy Silverado Headlights are brought to you by the best names in the business and are guaranteed to provide a precise OEM fit. Each pair of Chevy Silverado Halo Headlights is also preassembled by the manufacturer and arrives at your door ready for “plug & play” installation! Chevrolet Avalanche News

Chevrolet AvalancheImage via WikipediaDetails:
Chevrolet Avalanche. The Avalanche was introduced in 2001 and redesigned in 2007. For 2010, the Avalanche gets a few new features. A USB port is now standard so you can play and control music from an MP3 player with the Avalanche's stereo. A single speed transfer case is now standard on four-wheel drive Avalanches, and the 1LT package now adds dual zone climate control, remote start, adjustable pedals and a heavy-duty locking rear differential. A six-speed automatic transmission is now standard. If you're interested in an Avalanche, check out this month's Best Chevrolet Deals where we've done the research to find the latest discounts and incentives for you.
Exterior - What the Auto Press Says. The 2010 Avalanche continues the styling from a 2007 redesign. The redesign left second-generation Avalanches almost identical to the first generation in size, but with a slightly tweaked front end, a power-dome hood and redesigned lighting elements. The most commented-on feature of the Avalanche's exterior is the removal of the previous generation's plastic body cladding, a change that most reviewers really like. When it comes to Chevrolet, the one word that probably comes to mind is dominance. And if not, then it should, because Chevy has kept a firm grip on the American auto industry ever since their first models rolled off the line. Drivers from every background depend on Chevy to give them what they need, from NASCAR champions to the everyday person who craves performance and dependability. Street-minded sedans, SUVs, crossovers, and trucks have all contributed to the patriotic success story that has made this brand so special. Maybe that's one reason why Chevrolet owners treat their rides like members of the family. With that in mind, treating your own model correctly means finding the right Chevy Accessories that represent you the best way possible. After all, that is what it's all about.
CARiD has the high-quality Chevy parts you need, whether for replacements or upgrades, and at the prices that make it easy to see all of your dreams become a reality. Chevrolet Avalanche News

Chevrolet Avalanche news. Because the Avalanche is so multi-functional, most reviewers like it. When you add in excellent safety scores and features and a comfortable SUV-like cabin, the 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche photographed in Montr...Image via WikipediaAvalanche may be the perfect compromise between a pickup and an SUV. However, though the Avalanche is strong and capable, its price is higher than other SUTs, and even higher than some full size pickups. The Avalanche is a strong choice among SUTs, but some buyers may do better with a less-expensive SUT or full size pickup.
Other SUTs to Consider. Compared to the Avalanche, some reviewers prefer the Honda Ridgeline, which they say drives more like a car. While the Ridgeline isn't quite as rugged as the Avalanche, some buyers who are trading up to a truck for the first time might appreciate its more car-like interior and performance. However, the Ridgeline's maximum tow rating is about 3,000 pounds less than the Avalanche's and the Ridgeline doesn't have the foldable midgate, so you're stuck with a smaller bed. On the other hand, the Ridgeline is about $7,000 cheaper than the Avalanche.
If you need more capability, check out a full-size truck like the Chevrolet Silverado or Ford F-150. Both can be had with full back seats and comfortable interiors that give the Avalanche's a run for its money. Depending on how they're equipped, both can tow more than the Avalanche as well. Both get slightly worse gas mileage, though.
Stylish trucks need love too, so at CARiD.com, we make sure we've got the Chevy Avalanche Accessories and parts to back up the concept. Grilles, floor mats, tonneau covers, bed rails, wheels, dash kits, and more are available inside our selection in the absolute highest quality possible. Chevrolet Avalanche News

Chevrolet Avalanche - What the Auto Press Says. The 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche ranks 1 out of 4 Sport Utility Trucks. This ranking is based on our analysis of 43 published reviews and test drives of the Chevrolet Avalanche, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
Stuck somewhere between an SUV and a truck, the Avalanche is a good choice for people who do moderate hauling or towing, but still want a comfortable interior with plenty of seating.
The Chevy Avalanche is a four-door, five-seat Sport Utility Truck. That means its interior is similar to an SUV's, but instead of an enclosed cargo area, the Avalanche has a small pickup bed. While pickup purists may not think the Avalanche's bed is big enough, the Avalanche has a trick up its sleeve: a folding midgate and removable back glass lets you to trade the second row for more room in the bed. Cars.com explains: "The Avalanche features a midgate that expands the cargo area into the passenger cab. By removing the midgate and folding down the second-row seat, the cargo floor extends from 5 feet, 3 inches to more than 8 feet. The cargo bed also features lockable, side-mounted storage. A locking tailgate and cargo cover increase the secured-storage options even more." Chevrolet AvalancheImage via Wikipedia

Unbias Review of 2010 Avalanche.2.

Unbias review of 2010 Chevy Avalanche. Cylinder deactivation is marketed as an efficient method of saving fuel and I have to admit it's the only part of the vehicle I'm disapointed with. It's been my experiance that cylinder deactivation largly engages when the vehicle is coasting...yes, I said coasting! My question is how much fuel is the vehicle using when it's coasting anyway. The other surprise is when the vehicle comes to a complete stop like at a stop sign or red light for example the vehicle goes into V8 mode...yikes! Are you kidding me...make an effort guys, program the computer to disengage the additional 4 cylinders for fuel savings while the vehicle is stopped/idoling. I love the truck I really really do but come on.
So here is my advise, it rides nice, it feels solid, fit and finish is great, my family feels really safe, but if your going to market cylinder deactivation as a fuel savings devise then configure the darn thing to save as much fuel as is reasonably possible. Okay, i'll get off my soap box...at the end of the day I love the truck!!!!
Chevy Avalanche accessories In 2003, the Avalanche was restyled with body cladding now optional. A Chevy Avalanche without the body cladding is referred to as a WBH version of the vehicle, or "Without Body Hardware." The midgate is the removable partition between the bed and the cabin and can be folded down partly or removed completely for complete access to the truck bed. Removing the midgate also allows for the rear seats to be lowered. The Chevy Avalanche was redesigned come 2006 for the 2007 model year. Now built off of the GMT900 platform, the Avalanche kept much of the same styling cues as its platform mates such as the Suburban and Tahoe. Engine options vary between a 5.3L Vortec 5300 V8 or 6.0L VortecMax V8 with variable valve timing. Both engines are equipped with Active Fuel Management, which turns off half of the cylinders during subtle road conditions to conserve fuel.
