Unbias Review of 2010 Avalanche.

2010 Chevrolet Avalanche.. After many months of research and test drives I finally purchased a vehicle. It's a 2010 Avalanche LS4wd with the 1AS package. It has a rear camera, back up audibles, buttons on steering wheel etc, etc. basically it's more than an LS but less than a LT.
Having owned the truck for a number of weeks now a number of things has surprised me. First of all I'm surprised at just how much I enjoy driving this vehicle. Sure it's comfortable but most vehicles in this price range are comfortable...it's more than that. I think it has something to do with how high the driver sits. This vehicle is shorter and more narrow than a silverado and yet it sits higher. It's a great seating position. To give you a sence of scale I sit as high in my Avalanche as people do on the city bus...yup, it's that high!. If you noticed I didn't give the Avalance full 5 stars for performance and you may be wondering about that. It has to do with cylinder deactivation.

Chevy Avalanche accessories The Chevy Avalanche debuted in 2002 and has been a steady success ever since. The Avalanche's plastic body cladding and integrated bed have been two of the most prominent reason why this model has been such a magnet for attention. Chevy's goal for the Avalanche was to design a vehicle that is seen as both versatile and unique. Originally constructed off of the GMT800 platform along with the Chevy Silverado, GMC Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade, the Avalanche boasts full-sized truck features along with SUV convenience. For its first generation, the Chevy Avalanche had gray body cladding and came with one of two engine options: a 5.3L Vortec V8 (290 horsepower) or an 8.1L Vortec V8 (340 horsepower). The transmission was a 4-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive was offered with 4-wheel drive as an option. Results were impressive right from the start. Motor Trend magazine named the Chevy Avalanche as its SUV of the Year for 2002 and the model was also nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award, as well.
